Tracking Remaining Ship Sizes
Level: Advanced
Remove sunk ships from consideration and adjust your search net to match the sizes left.
Every sinking changes the list of remaining ship sizes. If the shortest remaining ship grows from two cells to three, you can widen the gaps in your parity net and search fewer cells.
If all remaining ships are long, ignore narrow gaps and concentrate fire on open spaces. Conversely, if a two-cell ship remains, you need to search even corners and tight gaps.
Probability-density calculations also take 'remaining ship sizes' as an input. Accurately tracking what's left is the foundation of every advanced tactic.
